They stayed with us longer this year and the flock is up to about 20 birds from about 6 birds a couple of years ago. Last week the deer fence went up on our two new vineyards so the vineyard deer will not be eating our grapes there anymore. ... It has been a good year, a good crop and no fall or spring frost damage. A very good year. Today they predict a 75 degree day so we look forward to being outside doing our fall chores. See more View on facebook October 10, 2017, 4:40 pm Today is Tuesday, 10/10/2017, and we survived the first frost with just a little white frost on some of the upper leaves of the vines. There is no damage to our latest maturing grapes. And it was a bautiful morning with a beautiful fog hanging over Lake Irene and full sunlight. Alll we could hear is the sound of the swans that come back to our shore every fall. A beautiful start to the day, now back to the grape harvest, and crushing grapes into wine. ...
